Canadian Conference on Elder Law
I attended the Canadian Conference on Elder Law put on the by Canadian Centre for Elder Law Studies this weekend and was impressed with the professionalism and commitment of the many people working in the areas of elder law and aging. Jane Meadus, Institutional Advocate at the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly (ACE) in Toronto was inspirational in her intelligence and commitment to justice for the elderly. With an increasly aging population and the pervasiveness of ageism on our culture and attitudes towards the status of seniors in our communities, we could use an ACE in BC to provide affordable and effective advocates for our seniors.
